Dream Angels HALO was released in April 2000 as the second women’s fragrance in Victoria’s Secret’s Dream Angels lingerie brand, which had expanded into fragrance a few months prior with Dream Angels Heavenly. Both Heavenly and Halo were created by Firmenich perfumer Ilias Ermenidis.
With Halo, Victoria’s Secret carried forward a new strategy that treated the Dream Angels fragrances as part of the overall Dream Angels brand, instead of individual fragrances with individual strategies under the VS umbrella. Although they would all be extensions of the Dream Angels aesthetic, lingerie brand, and fragrance brand, the scents themselves were made to be very different, to offer fans of one a reason to buy Heavenly and the others that would launch after Halo. The bottles have the same shape, but have different trims and caps. Heavenly has gold trim, while Halo has silver trim. They look complementary and ethereal as a part of a vanity display.
Where Heavenly has a clean scent, Halo is a sensual white floral blend with tiare flower, freesia, milk flower and fig.

Victoria’s Secret expanded its advertising strategy to reach a new audience beyond those who already shopped there. Scented strips were featured in Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Instyle, and Essence magazines, in addition to strips in millions of Victoria’s Secrets catalogs that were delivered via snail mail.The March 2000 edition of the VS catalog included a scented strip ad for Heavenly, and the April edition had a Halo strip.
Halo was the second Dream Angels fragrance launch by Victoria’s Secret. It was followed by Dream Angels Divine in November of the same year, the final year of the last millennium: 2000.
