The Healing Garden
The Healing Garden, launched by Coty in 1997, quickly became known for its holistic fragrances designed to promote well-being. It won the 1997 FiFi Award for Best Environmental Fragrance and featured a complete line of aromachology scents. By 1998, the brand included six scent lines—lavendertherapy, jasminetherapy, tangerinetherapy, greenteatherapy, cold comforttherapy, and mintherapy for feet—each serving a specific purpose. The unique branding style featured a lowercase “h” in -therapy, a signature of the brand, and excluded apostrophes, creating a distinct identity.
In 2000, The Healing Garden was widely available at major retailers, including Sears, Walmart, K-Mart, Target, and Walgreens. This accessibility contributed to its popularity as consumers sought holistic wellness through fragrance. However, as Coty shifted focus toward global brands and cosmetics, the brand was sold in 2007 to Ascendia, which aimed to revitalize the brand. Unfortunately, Ascendia filed for bankruptcy in 2008, leading to its transfer to Ilex Consumer Products Group.
Despite initial hopes for revitalization, The Healing Garden struggled to maintain its presence in the market. The Healing Garden products were discontinued altogether, marking the end of an era for a brand that had once captured the essence of holistic fragrance.
