YSL Champagne is a sparkling floral fragrance launched in 1993. YSL Champagne was renamed Yves Saint Laurent shortly afterward, and later Yvresse in 1996, due to legal challenges from French winemakers who argued that the name “Champagne” should be reserved exclusively for the sparkling wine from the Champagne region. The perfume retained its same formula but adopted the new name to comply with the legal ruling.
