HISTORY OF ARMANI MANIA FOR WOMEN

In 2004, L’Oréal USA’s Designer Fragrances Division launched Armani Mania to boost its women’s fragrance line. Following the success of Sensi in 2003, they promoted Mania as “the essence of Armani.” L’Oréal had introduced a different version of Mania in 2000, but it was later pulled. Jack Wiswall, president of the division, explained that the earlier version was a test. The new Armani Mania had a different formula, repositioned with updated marketing and advertising.

International Flavors & Fragrances developed the fragrance, classifying it as a woody, aromatic floral. The top notes include Moroccan laurel, mandarin zest, and black currant, creating a vibrant opening. Middle notes of peony, lily of the valley, and iris add a soft floral touch. The base notes feature sandalwood, musk, and amber, giving the fragrance warmth and depth. This balanced scent combines freshness with elegant, rich undertones.

The bottle design mirrors the men’s Armani Mania but with a feminine twist. Clear glass reveals the peach-colored juice, capped with a mother-of-pearl top. Isabelle Morel, the brand’s international marketing director, noted the fragrance reflected Armani’s latest collections. These designs were more feminine, colorful, and sparkling, inspiring the overall feel of the perfume. Armani Mania embodied the designer’s modern, vibrant elegance.
